TL;DR: Renewed 16-inch MacBook Pro models from 2019 are up to $600 off as Amazon’s Deal of the Day for Sept. 15. That’s a potential 22% discount and saves an extra $400 compared to buying new.

The sourdough starters being raised and loved by people who have never made bread in their lives was our first clue: Being stuck at home due to the pandemic has done wonders for our buried creativity. (And experts say that engaging in creativity activity can do wonders for stress.)

If home will still be your main hangout come fall and winter, there’s never been a better time to finally start that creative project that you never have time for. Aspiring graphic designers, video editors, photographers, music mixers, or people who just want to play around in Photoshop, damnit, could use a big-screen MacBook Pro by their side, and Amazon’s Deal of the Day is hard to say no to: Renewed 16-inch MacBook Pros, typically Apple’s most expensive laptops when brand new, are up to $600 (22%) off

Depending on the memory and processor configurations, you could get a 16-inch MacBook for less than or just $100 to $200 more than a 13-inch Pro.

2020’s first major Apple Event is set for Sept. 15 — but all predictions considered, a new MacBook to splurge on probably isn’t in the cards. Either way, the 2019 16-inch Pro is still a beast worthy of your money: The 9th-generation Intel Core processors with up to 6 or 8 cores, AMD Radeon Pro 5000M series graphics, and a resolution of 3,072×1,920 (plus a pixel density of 226 ppi). Non-spec changes include an upgrade to six speakers on board to provide deep bass while a new mic setup decreases hiss by 40 percent. It’s a mixed media artist’s dream.

Sale prices range from $1,879 to $2,199.
